Longwood Management Corporation, a management company providing consulting services for the Long Term Care Industry is looking for an exceptional Payroll Assistant/Processor to join the family.
Summary:
Compiles and enters payroll data to maintain payroll records. Reviews the accuracy of paycheck calculations. Assists in providing client facilities with a high level of customer service by performing the duties as described below.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· First point of contact for employees for time and attendance and payroll related questions
· Ensure timely and accurate processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
· Audit and review timesheets for accuracy in regards to California Meal Break Rules, California Overtime rules, etc.
· Validate accuracy of payroll checks computations and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of the payroll
· Ensure accurate withholding of pre-tax and post-tax deductions, payroll taxes, union dues etc.
· Process garnishments/liens, employment verification forms, direct deposits, W-4 changes, etc.
· Responsible for overseeing and participating in the timely and accurate payroll processing for multiple locations
· Input payroll adjustments into the payroll system
· Make changes to employee information such as addresses, phone numbers, withholding, etc.
· Prepare and issues paychecks
· Separate and distributes payroll checks for corporate departments and client facilities
· Prepare final checks for terminated employees and special payroll checks in case of payroll errors
· Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
· Provide excellent customer service and help troubleshoot when problems arise
· Train new employees and staff on payroll process and system functions
· Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
· Must be detail-oriented and organized
· Proficiency at using various Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
· High level of skills in handling sensitive and confidential information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
· Strong customer service focus and great team player
· Knowledge of ADP Vanatage and eTime is a plus
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Dependable, reliable and demonstrated strong work ethics
· Meets deadlines, prioritizes assignments, and multitasks in a very fast paced environment
· 1-3 years of payroll processing experience in the centralized Payroll Department within large organization (3,000+ employees) and multiple locations
· Must be willing to work overtime during heavy payroll processing time
· Solid understanding of payroll and payroll laws is also a must
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
