ABOUT THE POSITION
The Perth Mint is looking for experienced cleaners (Full-Time and Casual) who will be responsible for light and heavy cleaning duties, in an office and industrial setting and will sometimes require the use of specialised machinery and industrial equipment.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Cleaning, dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, and fittings
- Removing rubbish and recyclable material as well as emptying containers and bins
- Stripping, sealing, buffing, and polishing of floors, including the steaming of carpets
- Cleaning and disinfecting laundry, bathroom fixtures and change rooms, replenishing supplies and reporting defective plumbing fixtures
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to clean floors, work areas and machines.
- Removing dust and dirt from desks, cabinets, shop displays, ceilings, walls, overhead pipes, fixtures etc.
- Applying acids and solvents to surfaces to remove stains and dirt
- Tackle heavy cleaning jobs and high cleans upon request
- Notify building management of any repairs required
- Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately
- Ensure all ordering and management of cleaning consumables is performed to support required duties
- Maintain and clean coffee machines, drinking water systems, dishwashers, and fridges
- Ensure own safety and health at work and avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at work
- Working with a range of work procedures, to deliver safe and efficient cleaning services
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone who has skills and experience in the following:
- An understanding of safety requirements and the ability to work in a safe manner
- Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision, always considering others around you
- Must have working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods
- Working with Scrubbers, walk behind machine and Industrial Compactor is preferred, high-end scrubbing machine
- Elevated Work Platform training is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team, strong work ethic, respectful, helping to maintain positive team spirit
- Must be available to work on a quarterly rotating roster and be flexible & assist in different areas of the business
