We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, preferrably with registrations in Breast, OB/GYN, Neuro and Vascular. With this being a per diem position, it would be the expectat! ion that the candidate would have a flexible schedule and willing to work a variety of shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends). It would be beneficial for candidate to look to participate in Call coverage as well. Candidate must have strong communication and interaction skills with patients, peers and physicians. Ability and willingness to work both as a team member and independently is required for our deparment operations Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging services in the specialty of Ultrasound. Operates a variety of equipment to produce images of the patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Interviews patients, explains procedures, and assists in positioning the patient for procedures. Reviews test results with the radiologists and referring physicians. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduate, or minimum of one year completion of a diagnostic medical sonography program (On-the-job training and experience equivalents will be considered in lieu of completion o! f a diagnostic medical sonography program for staff who obtain! ed their training prior to the availability of formal training programs and who are currently registered with the ARDMS.)
Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, desirable ,
Current registration with ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or meets the requirements as a candidate to sit for the ARDMS boards.
All candidates must become registrants within one year of employment with Billings Clinic. Board registry in physics and Abdomen, and/or OB/GYN or echocardiography as appropriate to department/service needs, fundamental understanding of doppler physics.
Current specialty certifications as appropriate to department/service line will be required within one year of employment ,
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) â€" encompassing diagnostic medical sonology with sub specialties in abdomen, breast sonology, neurosonology, obstetrics and gynecology, and small parts.
Registered Vascular Technologis! t (RVT) â€" encompassing vascular sonology and physiologic testing.
