Under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) or senior lab members as designated by PI, incumbent serves as technician for research laboratory studying virus host interactions of HIV and related primate viruses. Responsibilities include performing molecular and cellular biology procedures. Specifically, incumbent will maintain cell lines in tissue culture, isolate genomic DNA and generate cDNA from primary cells, make and titer HIV, AAV, and lentiviral stocks, prepare chemicals and media, assist with routine lab maintenance, provide student support. Other duties as assigned.Percentage of Time:

Demonstrated skill in basic molecular genetics and cell biology procedures.

Skill in standard sterile techniques used in tissue cultures and bacterial cultures.

Comfort in BSL2+ facility and working with BSL2+ agents.

Competencies in BSL2+ practices.

Skill in preparing and handling of viral stocks.
