Position Overview

The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire a receptionist in a local office in the Division of Family & Community Services, Department of Human Services (DHS). This position performs a variety of difficult and responsible clerical functions and assistance including filing, keyboarding, record processing, secretarial and general office support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as receptionist.
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail, this includes incoming correspondences from customers and applicants, drop box items, faxes, and Springfield mailing of reports.
  • Keyboards and prepares a variety of routine forms, travel vouchers, customer forms, form letters, cards, and records.
  • Serves as timekeeper for assigned staff.
  • Issues new or replacement LINK cards to customers, maintains records of card numbers issued or voided, completes computerized transactions to communicate activation of card to Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) contractor.
  • Maintains files, forms, reports, supplies, brochures, and records.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Requires one (1) year of related office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard at 35 wpm.

Work Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday
