Job Description


Context of the job

As an intern in the Operational Performance team, you will participate in projects aiming at improving performance and decision-making.

Data analysts at Deezer make sure any strategic decision is based on the right data-driven insights. They keep an open and growth mindset in order to continuously develop new methodologies, analytical skills and business acumen.

Data analysts of the Operational Performance team are organised in “squads” by topic: Product, Content, Business and Partnerships. This position is to work in the Content squad of the team.


What you will do

As part of the Content Analytics team you will:

  • Design, build and maintain data visualisations and dashboards to make data accessible and easily understandable
    • Example: dashboard to monitor the performance of editorial playlists, dashboard to analyse the audience by musical genre and demographics, dashboard to identify trending artists
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and deliver insights on music consumption, as well as recommendations for the stakeholders to make the best decisions
    • Example: analysis on the performance of Deezer Originals, sizing of the audience for specific music genres (yoga & mediation, anime music etc.) to assess the opportunities, analysis of editorial operations (Christmas, Pride month, Women voices) to measure the impact on user engagement, analysis on user musical taste to improve CRM targeting
  • Support the broader Data Analytics team, and work closely with other data teams (Data Science, User Research, R&D)

Qualifications


What we are looking for

  • End of year internship (no gap year)
  • Available in September 2023
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or other).
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience using a data visualisation tool (Tableau, Data Studio or other)
  • Must be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Enjoy working with data, numbers and statistics
  • Fluent in French & English
  • Ability to present compelling insights & recommendations to stakeholders
  • Team player, strong attention to detail, and eagerness to learn more about data within the streaming industry
  • Experience in analytics and/or the music industry is a plus
  • Must be able to provide an internship agreement from your school ("Convention de Stage")
