DEFINITION : Provides Women’s Healthcare in a small friendly office. Our office has no electronic medical records system (paper charting only).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Requires graduation from a licen sed practical nursing program or registered nursing program or certified medical assistant program. Requires current license as a practical nurse or registered nurse or certified medical assistant in the State of Montana. Requires 1+ years of experience preferable in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK : Functions include assisting Dr. Knudsen with patient office visits and minor gynecological procedures. Triages patients, assessing the patients’ needs in person and on the phone. Manages patient flow, ensuring that the office appointments are conducted on schedule. Obtains patient health history and prepares patients for examination. Gathers and records vital signs including blood pressure, height and weight, etc. Charts interactions with patients. Performs nursing duties such as directed by Dr. Knudsen and administers injections and vaccinations to patients. Collects specimens and performs lab tests allowed as a CLIA-certified l aboratory for waived tests. Informs patients of lab and test results to include explaining abnormal results and answering questions. Assists Dr. Knudsen with patient follow up. Schedules appointments for procedures and diagnostic tests with other medical providers and hospitals. Distributes test results to Dr. Knudsen and assures entry into patient records. Prepares and administers prescription medications to patients or telephones in prescriptions to pharmacies and records medications in chart per Dr. Knudsen. Maintains clinic work area and equipment, including cleaning and sterilization. Assists with material management, and stocking of clinic, inventory and ordering.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS : The work is performed while walking or standing most of the time. The work requires medium range lifting, including supply boxes (20-30 lbs.); assisting patients on and off the examination tables as needed. Requires the manual dexterity to perform giving i njections. The employee may risk exposure to bio-hazardous waste (blood, urine body fluids), disinfectant chemicals and communicable diseases.

Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 /hour
