ARRT Certification Required
Works independently in coordination with other Imaging Services and FHC staff, r! adiologists, cardiologists
and other physicians, to provide ultrasound and bone density services. Performs a variety of ultrasound
procedures, cardiac and general, utilizing ultrasound equipment, and bone density studies utilizing DEXA
technology. Provides care to patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. Provides for the physical
and psychological needs of patients during examination.
Qualifications:
1. Current ARDMS certifications in Adult Echocardiography, Abdominal Sonography, OB/GYN
Sonography, and Vascular Technology required.
2. Current ARRT certification in Radiography required.
3. Current Montana State license in Radiologic Technology required.
4. 8-10 years of ultrasound experience preferred.
5. HCP BLS required.
6. ACLS preferred.
7. Supervisory experience preferred.
8. Capable of multi-tasking to maintain daily patient workload, i.e., STAT exams and add-on
procedures.
9. Good c! ommunication skills, both verbal and written required.
10.! Self-starter with proven organizational skills required. Must be able to think and function
independently, as well as, as a team member.
11. Equipment and systems experience:
- Familiar with a wide range of ultrasound systems related to the above examinations and the
- Familiar with the operation and use of DEXA system.
- Solid knowledge and experience in reporting and display systems for cardiologist/radiologist
- Knowledge and experience in digital computer system for acquiring, storing and retrieving
Experience in digital lab concept, including transition from videotape to a digital system
Job Duties:
1. * Obtain, review and bring together pertinent patient history, physical examinations and ! supporting
clinical data to facilitate diagnostic results. Prepare patient procedure rooms. Set up equipment, turn
on all machines and obtain supplies.
2. * Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures by producing, assessing, and evaluating images and
related data that is used by physicians and read for a medical diagnosis.
3. * Provide interpreting physicians with an oral or written summary of technical findings.
4. * Perform daily quality control testing of bone density machine before patient use.
5. * Operate x-ray bone densitometer used in the assessment of osteoporosis.
6. * Assist with problem-solving through peer and management collaboration, physician interaction,
resource knowledge.
7. * Communicates effectively when dealing with peers, patients, general public, and fellow staff
members.
8. * Perform clerical duties and paperwork as needed.
